Messiah Village is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community located on a beautiful 80-acre campus in Mechanicsburg, PA. It offers a spectrum of services and accommodations for older adults and their families, including maintenance-free residential living cottages and apartments, assisted living, nursing care, memory support, and community services. Messiah Village is a ministry that responsibly enhances the lives of older adults with Christ-like love.

Emerson Lesher has been President for 15 years at Messiah Village. Prior to that he was a gero-psychologist for 15 years. He is interested in how organizations work effectively, Bob Dylan, Garrison Keillor, reading, dining out, and travel. He is also the grounds keeper at the family farm.

Nate Shields has been employed at Messiah Village for over 10 years and is still trying to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up. He is married to Linda, lives creekside in Camp Hill, and has a fish named Michael Phelps. They are all very happy.

Kristen Heisey is the VP of Marketing & Communication at Messiah Village. She lives in a home of very creative people with 2 small budding artists and her husband who is a web designer. She loves art, fixing up old homes, architecture, long walks, helping out with Cubbies at church, and watching her garden grow.

Karin Bisbee is a daughter, wife, mom, and fundraiser who loves words and working at Messiah Village.

Chris Wnuk is the Director of Information Technology at Messiah Village. Though she makes her living in technology, Chris’s first loves are words and humor. She has written and performed comedy in the area and in Washington, DC, and is completing her first book. She lives in Harrisburg with her husband and cat, both of whom provide great source material.

Mary McAllister is a retired mathematics teacher who works with Messiah Village’s Golden Mouse Computer Club and the Resident Welcome Committee here at Messiah Village. Mary and her husband, Robert, have been residents of Messiah Village since 2005.

Robert Rickert is a current Messiah Village resident and retired Engineer having worked at Amp Inc. for 38 years. He enjoys carving, reading and skypeing with his family.

Devon Zehr has been at the Village for 3 years in the Construction Services Department. He finds joy in turning a cottage or apartment into a home for new residents and hearing the stories they tell about their past. Blessed with a wonderful wife and two young girls, Devon enjoys spending time with them in the great outdoors whenever possible. His two other passions in life are disaster relief service projects and convincing Bob Hess not to retire!

Susan Stauffer is the Director of the Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning®, a program she worked to develop that provides adults age 60 and older with opportunities for continued learning, enrichment, and service. Susan has been with Messiah Village since December 2005. She enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time in the outdoors.

Esther Gregg is a Messiah Village resident living on Willow Way with her husband and two cats. They are both retired and have so far enjoyed living here. Esther volunteers regularly in the gift shop, the Village Center’s library, during the Fall Festival and clothing sales, and works at the reception desk in the Commons. She enjoys writing, reading, drawing and taking walks.

Aly Felton has concluded her internship with Messiah Village. She has graduated from Messiah College and is now making her way out into the wide world of marketing. She may drop in from time to time to tell a story of conquering the world.
