Fall Festival is fast approaching! One of my daughter’s favorite parts of Fall Festival is petting the animals (trying not to get sheep fur on her lollipop).

Going to SPACE at Messiah Village

Yesterday, Thursday August 12, Messiah Village held a groundbreaking to commemorate the beginning of a $3.5 million building project that will create a new and more accessible chapel entrance and will expand the living space of the Special Care Nursing Neighborhood that cares for residents with dementia.
I have never been through the process of such a large building project and had no idea how much work goes into a project like this. As the Gift Development Assisted I helped the Development Office raise money for this project. The support and participation of Messiah Village staff, family of residents and friends was amazing. I’ve learned so much from my co-workers, the committee members and our wonderful co-chairs, John Morefield and Dorothy Gish. I admire their hard work and perseverance.
I’m looking forward to the next phase of the project. This has been a fun learning experience and I can’t wait to see what is next!

Aug Friday Fun – Upgrade!!!
Our awesome Grounds Team was working and sweating doing a much needed landscaping renovation in our Fountain Courtyard this week. They don’t like having their pictures taken that much, but they are proud of the work that they did. So we snapped a few pics that we’d like to share.
I think that the Grounds Team did an awesome job! A big shout out to Caleb, Tony, Bob, Ryan, Jason, Zach, Glen, and Cody.
Great job guys!!!

Jul Friday Fun – Garden Wandering
I was out taking pictures the other day for an upcoming article in Village Life and I happened upon the most peaceful deer I had ever seen. I asked the deer if i could take a picture with him. He said yes.

Jul Friday Fun – Blast from the past
If you didn’t know that Messiah Village hasn’t always been located in Mechanicsburg, PA. We used to be located in downtown Harrisburg, PA. Well back in 1978 after transforming part of 80+acres of land into a burgeoning community, we moved from Paxton Street to Mt. Allen Drive.

Jul Friday Fun – Video Fun with Volunteers
Just a few short weeks back, Messiah Village held a big celebration to honor all our volunteers. Some of our employees composed a little ditty and sang it to all our volunteers. Live…in person…with gobs of people watching. Nothing to be nervous about at all… Except the dreaded video camera that caught the whole thing…
