It’s hard to believe how close we are to finishing the SPACE Project. This coming week we will be receiving the furniture for the quad rooms and moving  residents into the first 2 renovated rooms!  We will also be moving into the new dining room.

Friday Fun – Super Bowl Predictions

    NateTheTech

The Super Bowl is nearly here and there is a great deal of speculation as to which team will win. Will it be the Steelers (or if you’re local – Stillers) or the Packers?

Will Pittsburgh win it’s 7th Lombardi trophy?

Or will Lombardi return to the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field?

Are you a fan of the Steel Curtain or the Pack?

So who’s it going to be?

    Friday Fun in the Snow???

    NateTheTech

After all the hooplah I heard on the news yesterday about 3-4 inches of snow, I was a tad disappointed when I saw that what we got was little more than a dusting. Not quite enough to cover the ground, but enough to transform Nittany lawn to mostly white.

Friday Fun – Who Loves a Parade???

    NateTheTech

You know that we LOVE a parade.  Residents, our team from Community Services, some friends from Grounds and Marketing got to participate in the annual Halloween Parade in downtown Mechanicsburg.

It was a blast to get out and wave to all the kids and parents. We wanted to share a picture with you from the event.

Friday Fun – A Change in the Air

    KellyTheWebGal

As the summer season slowly leaves and the cool crisp fall air sets in, I’m reminded of how beautiful our campus looks as all the leaves begin to change.

Although summer is my favorite season, I’m excited to see what fall will bring. Check out more photos of our beautiful campus on our Facebook page and click on the photos tab.

Nothing Says Welcome to Fall Like Friday Construction Fun???

    NateTheTech

Happy October Everyone!!! The fall season is upon us and the warmth of the summer sunshine is transitioning to the cool breeze of autumn. So to welcome the new season we have a few things that will be starting in earnest at the Village this month.

Most notably is the SPACE construction project that will result in a new entrance for the Chapel and Special Care nursing neighborhood along with some much needed updating inside as well.

But in order for that to all occur, we need to make some temporary changes for the pick up and drop off of children to the Children’s Family Center. So that is what is happening today.

We will be updating our progress here and on our Facebook page over the next several months. We’ll share with you the inside dirt (literal dirt, and dust, and drywall leavings) on what is happening. Let us know what you think and what pictures you’d like to see.

    Friday Fun – Chili Redux

    NateTheTech

Last Friday, we had the 1st ever Still Kickin’ Chili Cook-Off. It was AWESOME!!! One the reasons I had such a good time was because I participated in the event as the “rules enforcer”. So I would go around to all the different competitors and check the food temperatures and such.

But once it was time to serve it up, I got to taste the Chili (not a bad side benefit eh?). So at one point I met up with my friend Ron Steficek and we compared notes as to what we liked and what we didn’t.

Our fabulous photographer Geoff happened to catch us noshing on a couple of samples. What do you think I was thinking when he snapped the pic???

Friday Fun – Taking something large and making it small

    NateTheTech

I spent some time with a friend of mine. His name is Fred.

He’s been working on a project for a little while and I asked him if I could snap some photos.

    Can you figure it out?
