    Wanted: Prize Winning Chili

    KellyTheWebGal

stillkickin The Messiah Village chili pepper is looking for some prize winning chili to taste at this year’s Still Kickin Chili Cookoff! We are looking for local business and friends of the community to enter this year’s competition.

Last year was our first annual cook-off and it was a blast. The smell of homemade chili filled the air and the music entertainment literally had people dancing. Everyone who attended had the opportunity to taste each teams’ chili recipe and vote for their  favorite.  The winner of the People’s Choice Award had the opportunity to serve their chili s at the Messiah Village Fireside Grille (our on campus restaurant).

This year’s Still Kickin’ Chili Cookoff will take place on September 9. To learn more check out  MessiahVillage.org/chili

    PRGuruKristen

chili-fest-logoAfter almost a year of planning, it is hard to believe that the Still Kickin’ Chili Cookoff is tomorrow and the 36th Annual Fall Festival is on Saturday!

The excitement is building. We have 12 chili teams coming Friday, September 10 at noon to set-up and start cooking at 2 pm.

    Business Teams:

McKonly & Asbury – The Pepper Schleppers
United Water – Wise Water Guys
    Mount Joy Country Homes
    Messiah Village Community Services
    Cura Hospitality – Team Cura
    Mobile X-Ray Imaging – MXI
Feesers Food – Team Feesers Famous Chili
    Fireside Grille-Fireside Triple Threat
    Texas Roadhouse

    Hometown Cook Teams:

    Messiah Village Cooking Club
Hutchison Family – LaFamilia Que Cocina
    Lois Mason – Refiner’s Fire

It is exciting and scary to plan an event and have NO IDEA how many people are coming!
Thankfully, the weather sounds beautiful for this year’s Fall Festival. I have not experienced this before. Saturday should be a great day to enjoy some chicken BBQ, pick up a buy at the furnitue auction, enjoy the new trackless train, and  buy a beautifully handcrafted quilt.
Hope to see you on Friday and Saturday!

    Fall Festival Fun!

Fall Festival is fast approaching! One of my daughter’s favorite parts of Fall Festival is petting the animals (trying not to get sheep fur on her lollipop).
